Introduction

The SABRENT 8TB Rocket 4 PLUS NVMe 4.0 Gen4 PCIe M.2 Internal SSD Extreme Performance Solid State Drive (SB-RKT4P-8TB) is a high-speed SSD with a PCIe Gen4.0 x4 interface that provides all of the benefits of flash disk technology. Operating on TLC NAND Flash memory, it boasts performance speeds of up to 7100 MB/s (read) and 6600 MB/s (write) when used with a PCIe Gen4 motherboard.

Performance

When installed on a PCIe Gen4 motherboard, the SABRENT 8TB Rocket 4+ Nvme PCIe 4.0 M.2 2280 Internal SSD is capable of achieving speeds of up to 7100 MB/s (read) and 6600 MB/s (write) thanks to its PCIe 4.0 interface. On a PCIe Gen3 motherboard, it can achieve speeds of up to 3400 MB/s (read) and 3000 MB/s (write).

Note

Please note that to make the most of this SSD’s high-speed capabilities, you must use it with a PCIe Gen4 motherboard. If you use it with a PCIe Gen3 motherboard, the maximum speed will be 3500MB/s. It is also important to use a heatsink when installing any NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD directly onto a PCIe Gen4 motherboard to prevent thermal throttling.

Compatibility

The SABRENT 8TB Rocket 4+ Nvme PCIe 4.0 M.2 2280 Internal SSD is backward compatible with PCIe 3.0. When used with a Gen 3 PCIe motherboard, it can achieve speeds of up to 3400 MB/s (read) and 3000 MB/s (write).
